A friend who I haven't seen since before the pandemic recently celebrated a birthday. Gift presentation is as important as the gift itself—I am always searching for ways to make my presents more fun and more memorable. My love of postal ephemera inspired this gift wrapping for my faraway friend. Using plain label paper for the quintessential air mail border and stickers, the gift wrap is easy to do. Rectangular packages are well-suited to replicate a vintage air mail letter.

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Wrap your package in white wrapping paper or kraft paper. You may need to double-wrap the gift if you can see through the paper.
2. Download the Air Mail Letter Stickers PDF.
3. Print the file on full sheet label paper and cut out the pieces. The alternating blue and red parallelograms, or the border pieces, can be cut out in a strip or in groups of two. Tweezers are helpful in removing the backing from the stickers.
If using the address label, fill it out with a pen.
4. Place the stickers on your package to resemble an addressed letter.
